Newport, Ark. ?
The White River Planning and Development District, Inc., currently sponsors a Child Care Food Program as a means to provide nutritious meals to children enrolled in licensed or registered family child care homes.
The Child Care Food Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is administered through the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Early Childhood Education. The program reimburses family child care providers for meals and snacks served to children when daily requirements are met.
All children receive the same meals without regard to sex, race, age, handicap, color or national origin. There is no discrimination in the course of food service, and there will be no separate charge for meals provided to children in the family child care homes. If you believe that you have been treated unfairly in receiving food services because of race, color, national origin, age, sex or handicap, write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250.
If you operate a family child care home and would like more information about the benefits of the Food Program and how to Participate, contact Jill Dockins or Gaye Yates, White River Planning and Development District, Inc., in Batesville, or phone 1-800-737-CCFP or in Batesville, 870-793-5233.
