EDMOND, Okla. ? Late one recent night, while the homeowner was sound asleep, someone broke through the backdoor of a home in the 200 block of E. Edwards in Edmond.?
Authorities said the intruder?quietly took the purse from a table and crept out undetected.
It?s alarming to neighbors like Jerod Miles, who?said crime is rare in this neighborhood?near the UCO campus.
?Makes me want to start locking my doors,? he said. ?We haven?t locked them because we have friends coming in and out but we will now.?
The victim didn?t know her purse and credit cards were stolen until the next morning.?
But by then it was too late.
Edmond Police spokesperson Jenny Monroe said, ?They used the card several times at a 7-Eleven,?ATM withdrawal, gas at the Sam?s and they went into the Walmart.?
Investigators compared store surveillance video with the purchase times and identified two people they?d like to question.? ?
In this Walmart footage, you can see a man in an OSU ball cap and a blonde woman with a small ?baby bump.?
Monroe said, ?The woman appears to be at some stage of pregnancy.?They did make purchases for baby items.?
The couple bought $295 of baby supplies and dog food.??
investigators said the couple should be easy to identify.
According to Monroe, ?It shouldn?t be too hard.?If there is a friend or family member who?s pregnant with a man in an OSU hat, you can put two and two together.?
